We turn next to the dangers facing law enforcement. The deputy killed. Here's Phillip Mena tonight. Reporter: An army of police springing into action. S.W.A.T. Teams and heavily armored trucks zeroing in on the gunman suspected of killing a sheriff's deputy. Stay inside. Lock your door. This suspect is armed and dangerous, we believe. Reporter: It was 8:42 A.M. When deputy David wade served an eviction notice in Logan county, Oklahoma. Police say Nathan leforce then opened fire. The radio traffic was silent, then at approximately 9:20 A.M. The deputy got on the radio and said that he'd been shot in the face. He has been hit, but he's still talking on the radio. Reporter: Leforce allegedly stealing the deputy's cruiser, then taking this gray mazda, he abandoned it and made a run for it. Citizens in the town being warned. Do not open your door. Call 911 immediately. Reporter: Tonight, the heavily armed battalion surrounding leforce, leading to his surrender. He has a lengthy criminal record. Charged recently with kidnapping and domestic abuse. Deputy wade, medevaced but dying hours later. His fellow officers honoring him in a solemn procession.
