The tragedy in a movie theater. The father shot dead for texting during the previews. Tonight, here, we hear from the victim's wife, as everyone in that case awaits a new video from inside the theater. ABC's Steve osunsami, now. Reporter: Two devoted fathers. And one of them killed after an argument at this movie theater. Prosecutors hope video they've obtained from two cameras inside the theater might shed new light on what really happened. No strikes. No hits. Nothing that would indicate to him that this gentleman, Mr. Reeves, was threatened. Reporter: Retired police captain Curtis reeves is pleading not guilty to second-degree murder. Saying he shot 43-year-old Chad oulson in self-defense. But oulson's wife, Nicole, appearing on "The view" today, shared new details about the fatal argument over her husband's texting their daughter's babysitter on his cell phone. The gentleman had confronted my husband several times. Which my husband ignored and ignored and ignored. And it just got to a point where my husband spoke up. And that's when he shot him. Reporter: Reeves said he fired after seeing an unknown object thrown his way. But witnesses say the only thing thrown was popcorn. And that reeves knew it. I then hear someone say either I'll teach you or I'll show you to throw popcorn at me. I then saw the flash from the muzzle of the gun. Rur. Reporter: One shot, one death. So many questions. Zeev osunsami, ABC news, New York.
