Tiz the season when we see santa's helpers, all those elves in christmas movies like fred clause and santa buddy. But what happens when little people put on more common costumes. Let's do this. Like in the movie "elf". Does santa know that you left the workshop? Call me elf one more time! He's an angry elf. In real life what will happen to our little person, bill, when he interviews for a sales job? After all we know that a good first impression is everything. We're at the black bear saloon in white plains, new york. Jeremy is playing our interviewer. He's very obnoxious and offensive. I'm here to interview for the position. These are tall shoes to fill. I need someone who can take this seriously. Not an elf. I'm not an elf. Watching from behind the scenes is leah smith from the little people of america. It shines a light on what really happens with discrimination among our membership. If you see or hear this -- how is anyone going to take you seriously? You're a migit. What would you do? How long have you been walking in hunter enterprises? Ten years. These are big shoes to fill. My qualifications speaks for itself. Jake martin from australia senses a slight problem and it's about to become much worse. I think there is a misunderstanding. I'm hiring a sales representative. That's what I do. Take a look at my resume. I need someone who can look right in my clients' eye. You're about three feet too short to do that. Kate is completely glued to the scene. Now that jeremy steps away, will she say something? Hey, excuse me. Yes? That's the most offensive piece of discrimination I've seen in my entire life. Good for her. That's what we need to see. I really need this job. You don't want to work with him. If you were me what would you do? I would tell him to get and I would leave. You're not going to get the job and he's a pig. This is not unusual actually. It happens frequently. I just -- I'm really sorry. Thank you. I think I'm just going to go. We tell bill to leave the room for a minute. Now jeremy is back. Where did that little fellow go. That man? He left? Wouldn't you after the way you treated him. You don't know him. I was trying to be honest. There is a difference between honesty and discrimination. There are a lot of jobs for him. He could be an elf, a dwarf, one of those people. Please don't talk to me anymore. I would prefer if you weren't here. How are you? Go away. I'm blushing already. That was the most appalling thing I've seen. I've loved being in america and I thought this spoiled my whole day. A lot of people don't say anything. Why is that? I'm australian obviously. My experience in america is that actually you're quite open to talk about difficult things. That's what you like about this? Yes. As our cameras are rolling, time and again diners defend our little person. He's a jerk. He violates several human rights statutes. No one should be treated like that. This guy must be an idiot. Merry christmas little guy. I hope you get hit by a train. Thanks for seeing me. I look forward this this interview. This little girl can't help but notice bill's short stature. Her mother quickly tries to distract her. She noticed him and we were having a discussion about how it's not polite to stare. When he left, I said the man left because the other man was not being kind and hurt his feelings. Is it right to be mean to someone because they're different? No. But stands up to jeremy's insults like pat and her daughter tricia. I would like to talk to you about my resume. You and I both know that's not going to happen. You should have told me, hey so you know I'm a migit. Looks like she's dying to talk. That word is so offensive. You haven't even looked at my resume. I'm sure there are malls doing the whole santa thing. You could be an elf or one of those things. That is the last straw. You're extremely rude and offensive. Did I do something wrong? Yes, you did! You're laughing about it. You should be ashamed. I'm leaving. Seriously, little guy, if you need some dinner or whatever, whatever you need. Have a merry little christmas. He's so disrespectful. It's disgusting. Go over and say thank you. Thank you so much. Would you like to sit? Now tricia takes matters into her own hands starting a little investigation. What is his name? Say exactly how he treated you. She wants to contact jeremy's company and complain. You'll get the guy fired. Does he deserve that? I appreciate this. Of course, they won't reach the company. Instead, they get me. Are you okay? What did you feel like doing to that big guy. Nothing I can say in front of my mom. It was upsetting? For myself I work with special needs kids so I saw someone that was -- looked different but you're not different. It really upset me. What do you hope people take away from this? Just don't treat anybody differently. We're all the same. You nailed it. You were awesome. Thank you so much. It was an afternoon filled with big reactions, big voices, big hearts, all embracing our little person. The message, differences among us should never matter. Holiday season or not.
