Dan Childs is Managing Editor of the ABC News Medical Unit. He has been with ABC News since 2006. As part of the ABC News Medical Unit, he works with Good Morning America, World News, ABCNews.com and other ABC News platforms in covering health and medical stories. His invited appearances include guest lecturing at the Tufts Summer Institute on Digital Strategies for Health Communication and serving as a panelist at the Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ) 2011 annual conference session on patient and health care consumer empowerment. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Wake Forest University’s pre-medical program and a master’s degree in medical journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
