— -- New details have emerged involving Rosie O'Donnell's daughter Chelsea and the week she went missing from home.

The daughter of the famed comedian and former "View" co-host took a bus last week to the Jersey Shore, where she stayed with 25-year-old Steven Sheerer, New Jersey police told ABC News today.

There were no drugs in the house and no evidence of an intimate relationship when Chelsea, 17, was found late Tuesday night, police say.

Chelsea O'Donnell, who was described by police as unharmed and lucid, told officers when they arrived that her preference was to stay with Sheerer, who lives with his mother, but police took the teen back home. Sheerer, whom she apparently met on Tinder, does not face any charges at this time.

O'Donnell revealed her daughter was missing Tuesday, posting a statement on her website that read, "She was last seen Tuesday, August 11 ... She left home with her 6 month old therapy dog named Bear ... Chelsea stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention."

O'Donnell's rep added that Chelsea, "like millions of people, lives with mental illness. It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family and they just want her back safe."

After Chelsea was found and brought home, the comedian tweeted her concerns about Sheerer, but also her gratitude that her daughter was safe and sound.

"No mom is perfect - we all do our best," she wrote Wednesday night. "When someone u love is drowning in the rapids - u throw everything u can into the water - hoping they will grab on - stay afloat #believe."

It was also mentioned that Chelsea turns 18 in just three days. "She is 18 in 4 days - and i did what i had to," O'Donnell wrote.

O'Donnell's rep also told ABC News that “Rosie wants to thank everyone for their help, especially the South Nyack, N.Y., and Barnegat Light, N.J., police departments."

ABC News was unable to reach Sheerer for comment.

A Tinder representative told ABC News, "This is a very upsetting situation. We have security measures in place to help verify each user's authenticity … Users age 13 - 17 can only connect with other users in that same age range on Tinder. If we learn that a user has lied about their age in order to interact with users outside of their appropriate age group, we delete their profile immediately."
