Why did the government force banks to accept TARP money? Why did the government refuse to let “bailed out” banks to repay the TARP money? Why is no one asking these questions? It appears to me the the regime wanted to get control of the banks and used TARP as their lever.

The rich must realize that they must return a fair share of their ill gotten gains to society or it will simply be taken from them by the People! OWS has marched and made its voice heard, bringing the Port of Oakland and the downtown area to its knees. Banks have been closed as the wealthy bankers cower behind their rich mahogany desks. The power is with the People and the rich are coming to realize their responsibility to those they have abused!

maybe the sign means un id'd, because he is wearing a mask and is ononymous.
pretty sure a person who could spell words for the rest of the sign would not blow it on united.
They were probably trying to catch the simpleton Obama basher types. Looks like it worked. And the mask does not represent a comic book character, it's of a famous anarchist who tried to assassinate a king to bring about political change. The point is that you wind up with anarchy and riots in the streets when governments meant to act on the behalf of their people cave in to the wishes of the few rich enough to pay them. Yes, we're in a recession following 10 years of a Bush admin that initiated corporate welfare and gave away countless US jobs. What the OWS protesters are asking for is the elimination of executive golden parachutes and accountability of the people running companies for lost jobs. Pretty simple stuff. Executives in charge during a reduction in their work force size should lose a large percentage of salary ,not be rewarded for "eliminating expenses".

Seems like a good number of people treat politics like fashion. For example, it's stylish to bash Obama and immigrants and leftist pinko commie liberals because it's macho. Most of these folks have about as much sense of history as an 8 year old. We could vote all the incumbents out, but it looks like the pipeline of fresh talent is pretty much the same. I can not believe what the Republicans are pushing this season..Bush was just an idiot, but these people are certified lunatics. I like Obama and would like to see what he could do with a supportive congress full of Democrats. Given a fair chance, he may be able to undo the past decade of corporate embezzlement orchestrated by Cheney/Rove and their front man Bush. Yeah, the kids protesting in the park are kind of silly and naive, but at least they're not buying the line pushed by the media that covered for the last administration.

Since our republic is not governed by mob rule, the next election is when we decide the future direction of our government, not by spoiled punks trying to riot in the streets!

I am more interested in the cause of the protesters than a mere typo on the signs they carry. In fact, the funny faces complement the signs, which turn the whole thing into a satire on the government and corporations.

____"It’s sad, a travesty really, that so many of these uneducated folks are buying into the myth that if only the rich pay a few more percentage points on their taxes, the lives of the nation’s poor will be so much better, their problems will go away and they can eat better, live better, have a nicer house, better toys for their kids, nicer cars, etc. The truth is, if the rich are taxed a little bit – or even a lot – more, it is unlikely to have any impact whatsoever on their lives. In the very least, perhaps welfare and food stamp eligibility requirements will loosen, but overall, there will be no change in the quality of the lives for poor and working class. That’s just common sense and reality. If taxes are raised, the money will go to government coffers, and most will be paid to pet projects of political supporters. Little, if any, will trickle down to the poor. It would be nice to see these protesters put down their signs and do something that truly helps the poor, like working in a soup kitchen or joining the peace corps. Life is messy and unfair, but standing around complaining accomplishes very little in the long wrong. Getting involved and being the change you want to see in the world is what prompts change."

POSTED BY: MISSY ME | NOVEMBER 4, 2011, 2:14 PM 2:14 PM__________Aren't you glad about the financial meltdown that the corporate thieves created. The galling thing is that they had the nerve to ask the taxpayers to bail them out. Non of these criminals is yet to be prosecuted and jailed. Rather, they got rewarded for their bad behavior, while they laughed all the way to their banks, giving themselves bonuses. That is the kind of America you prefer. Right?
