A national sales tax and no income tax. Exclude vital items, tax luxuries higher. All problems solved. Tax holidays for certain items/services the government is trying to persuade people to buy/utilize will work far better than tax credits as well. Tax on interest accrued on accounts should be withheld by the bank and paid to the government directly. No refunds, no need for the average person to need to higher a professional to help them avoid having the government punish them for honest mistakes - and far fewer tax cheats. The economy could be allowed to spread its wings if corporations paid the same rate on their profits & interest accrued (but no where else...). Why not just fix the tax system?
