To all you people blaming Obama, when was the last time you shopped at Sears? I’ll bet all my dollars you don’t. So, YOU are the reason, not Obama. YOU probably spend your money at the all mighty Wal-Mart. So, when Sears comes crashing down, blame yourself, not the President.

Sears has been on a downhill spiral for years. The stores look like dumps – they’re crowded, dirty, and the employees couldn’t care less if you come in or not. The last time I was in a Sears store (a few months ago), I saw groups of employees standing around talking among themselves while the few customers in the store roamed around on their own. I couldn’t find anything and finally left. It’s sad because Sears used to be THE place to go for just about anything you needed. Now, the company hardly crosses my mind. And the one time it did and I visited, the experience was lousy. I probably won’t be setting foot in there again before they shut their doors for good – which probably isn’t far off based on this article!

SEAR’S IS NO LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIREDTHE STORE IT USED TO BE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE . THE COMPANY TREATS PEOPLE LIKE THEY ARE DOING THE CUSTOMER A FAVOR TO BE THERE WHERE IS THE OLD ADIGE ALWAYS RESPECT THE CUSTOMER, THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. BE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT YOUR PRODUCTS.LISTEN TO THE NEEDS OF BUYING PUBLIC & SERVICE THEM PROPERLY. FOLLOW AFTER WITH PHONE CALLS TO SEE IF THE PRODUCT MEETS THEIR NEEDS & ARE THEY SATISFIED WITH THE PURCHASE.ALSO THEY TREAT THEIR SALES PEOPLE LIKE DIRT. DO NOT APPRECIATE GOOD WORKERS.

It is reassuring to realize that not EVERYONE in this country only cares about who’s gonna win American Idol, or whether Chaz and Carson will return on DWTS after they were so unfairly voted off last season…

The comments sad too say do not reflect on individual stores. I work at the one in Kentwood, MI and can say this past holiday season we were Very busy. Large appliance sales have been strong last few weeks and even have had good numbers from Friends and Family sales. Also associates at the one I work at have been getting rave reviews from customers for above what people have come too expect for customer service. I do agree some stores aren’t that great though and call center is hard too deal with. I just hope corporate is getting the wake up call. Otherwise could go like Montgomery Wards did at the end. My mom used too shop at them all the time but their change hurt them. I went too a local one and got hounded by the sales people worried about making commision and hated it. I hope Sears and others don’t do same mistakes.

Yes, it is most definitely their sad customer service. I’ve experienced it first hand after purchasing an $800 dish washer. Sears, including the cooperate office would do nothing to take care of us and backup their products. They reeeeeeeemed us good. I threw the piece of crap out onto the street for the junk metal collectors to come and take and bought a used dish washer off Craigslist. It has outlasted the brand new $800 piece of crap that Sears sold me. They got their money from me, that’s all they cared about. This has been repeated thousands of times across America. So now it’s time Sears gets what they deserve. I’m jumping for joy. Sorry about all the jobs that will be lost, but Sears deserves this.

Just because we are on the path to recovery (as Obama said) doesn’t prevent badly-managed businesses from failing – or simply shutting down some of their excess baggage. Maybe Sears is finally realizing they’ve been stuck in the previous century and need to make some changes to stay competitive. How any of you manage to constantly blame the POTUS for *everything* in this country is just beyond me.

In which country do these posters live?

Sears stores are aged. In some, the signs look decades old and even worse management hasn’t had a jesus moment to see how it can live in the 21st century. If you look at Walmart and the rebranding effort they went under 3 years you will know what I am referring to.

So educate yourselves and look at your local Sears and notice how it looks different than JC Penny or Target.
