I am confused…the email that WF sent me said I had to start paying $15 a month in service fees or keep a $5000 minimum in my account. I’ll be closing my accounts with them.

The fees can be waived if a customer keeps a $1500 daily balance, has direct deposit, or a home mortgage with WF. My husband and I, like millions of other Americans, live paycheck to paycheck and it would be nearly impossible to keep our balance that high. We don’t yet own a home and do not have the option of direct deposit because we work for a small business that does not provide that option. We’ve been WF customers for over 13 yrs and will still be charged according to a phone banker I spoke to today. I don’t care about their excuses. This is wrong!

Let me just start off by saying this, NOTHING IN LIFE IS EVER FREE! But, I will say this! I love banking with Wells Fargo. Being a previous Bank of America customer, Wells Fargo is great. They help me whenever I have a problem or conern or even if I get charged an overdraft fee from time to time. Their customer service is great compared to other big banks and they want to help you! I bet most of the people putting these negative comments about this company are the ones who overdraw their accounts every day! And then expect to get Everything back ! Be responsible ! If you feel that you need to be concerned about your personal banking relationship with Wells Fargo get into your local branch and sit down with a banker. Thats what they are there for!, they are there to help.

The name Wells Fargo used to be synonymous with trustworthiness and security and, unfortunately, many people STILL associate the name with the Wells Fargo & Company of the old west.. Sadly, the Wells Fargo of today, while it may have the same name, is a far, FAR cry from it’s predecessor.. I put this bank right into the same category as I put 98% of all the banks out there, that being, totally untrustworthy, crooked, full of greedy thieves who want nothing more then to nickle and dime their customers to death! Be it this bank, Chase, Wacovia, BoA, they ALL could give a about the customers! While I’m not in love with my Credit Union, I still prefer it over any and all banks.. At least they don’t charge me for checks!

Are these bank CEO’s stupid or what? How many customers did Chase & other banks loose when they tried to institute fees. Then they cry to the government they need bailouts while the CEO’s get millions of our money. That right banks, bilk the little guy. I for one will switch if I see a fee on my checking account. My son went from Chase to a credit union when Chase did that to him. They get enough fees especially when they charge fees with there stock market accounts.

Then why have a “fee” to begin with?
Is this an obozo move, sneak it in, don’t use it then stick it to the customer
later in a statement with the hope the customer will not detect it and make a
windfall profit………….

Some deposits like SS checks are mandatory direct deposit, accounts which are under direct deposit rule should not be chaarged ANY fees as should accounts held by anyone over 65 Y.O.A.
F’n banks rob us via obozo’s stimulis and now in person……..bankers should be jailed!
Ben Franklin said that if bankers ever get control a country will cease……he was right.

Wells Fargo has ALWAYS been one of the worst banks ever. It just kills me when some Squib sticks up for the banks and makes excuses for them ripping everyone off. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD OWN AND CONTROL THE BANKS! Think of the difference THAT would make!!

The banks have already demonstrated that they considers consumers nothing more than food.

IF a business is required for one to live, like electric or water or banking, the government should completely control it. It should be owned by “the people”!

From my understanding you need $1,500 + checking to avoid that fee.
