The Federal Reserve maintained a status quo in its monetary policy and the so did U.S. stock markets today.

The Dow ended the day flat at 12,824.39, down -12.94 or -0.10 percent.

There were no surprises in the Fed announcement today, much of the moves had been anticipated by the markets already.

Focus now shifts once again to the three-year-old, festering mess that is the European debt crisis.
