You have to understand that the response given by Subway applies correctly to Australia. As you state, the legal system of measurement in Australia is the metric system. Non-metric units are forbidden to be used in trade, so the only way to get around the law is to describe the unit not as a measurement, but a trade descriptor. 12 inches, one foot have no meaning outside the US, no matter what the US spokesperson may insist. If they want to assure the bread length is concise, then they need to state the actual measurements as 300 mm and 150 mm. This will end any possibility of future problems.

As a trade descriptor, it doesn't have to be true to its name as its name has no official meaning. It can be 200 mm long or 400 mm or anything else.

So yes, the statement is correct.

Fake meat, fake cheese and I found a pubic hair in my Subway sandwich 20 years ago. People who eat that crap are nuts in my opinion.

So when they say meat is it really meat? What about the six inch sub? Headline should be "Subway puts Foot in mouth". If you want to call it a duck make it quack....oooops they are quacks or would that be quackers? Bite size footlong!

My sister worked there. The breads are thawed and if they sit out for too long, the yeast puffs them out too much. This is just probably a case where the bread wasn't thawed enough (for the yeast to poof it out) before baking.

Food is good from there. The workplace isn't. She obtained a head injury concussion at work and the store owner tried to make her continue to work. The manager also was cheap and told employees not to put cheese on the sandwiches. "Only ask the customers if they want anyting else on the sandwich. If they request cheese, give it to them."

Manager required people to share the cash register, and took it from employee paychecks if money went missing. My sister had worked as a cashier elsewhere prior to Subway and never had problems with money missing from her register. Money went missing from subway drawers to the point she had to refuse working on register with another employee who kept "losing" money.

I think I actually agree with Subway - its a loaf of bread, that is to say food, and some minor differences in size are to be expected, unless the bread in question has been shat out of a Wonderbread factory.
