Wacky State Fair Foods: Calorie Cheat Sheet

Whether it is deep fried or served on a stick, state fairs have a signature style when it comes to serving up summer treats - but does that always mean a serious calorie bomb?

ABC News Nutrition and Wellness Editor David Zinczenko breaks down just how many calories some of these wacky Wisconsin State Fair foods are packing.

On average, the Wisconsin State Fair sells 350,000 cream puffs each year at this 11-day fair. One treat contains approximately 500 calories.

It's all about the filling when it comes to these beer donuts. Estimated at 450 calories, these donuts' jelly fillings are made with seasonal beer.

Steak and Eggs on-a-stick include a hardboiled egg with a layer of seasoned, ground sirloin, with a coarse crumble top that is then deep fried, and drizzled with hollandaise sauce. This meal on-a-stick contains approximately 650 calories.

Featuring applewood smoked bacon, a Beer Battered Bacon Cheddar Hot Dog on-a-stick is served up for an estimated 800 calories.
