Raveonettes: Help Us Make Our New Record

Jun 10, 2009 5:35pm

Here’s a neat trick. The Raveonettes are in the studio right now, and instead of cloistering themselves away, they are going to be releasing demos on Twitter. Below is the first song, tentatively titled “Last Dance.” It’s one of the catchiest they’ve ever done, although the lyrical content is a wee bit dark. Per Sune Rose Wagner, one half of the “Danish noir rock duo”, it’s about “how drug addiction interferes with love.”

More from the press release: This morning, Danish noir rock duo The Raveonettes announced plans (via Twitter: http://twitter.com/theraveonettes) to give fans unique access to the recording of their upcoming fourth full-length, a Vice Records song-cycle still without a title, due this Fall. The fact that the album remains in its infancy isn’t stopping Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo from offering fans the chance to hear full studio demos of album tracks while they’re still works in progress. In a longer-form Myspace blog posted earlier today, Wagner said “don’t be shy to leave comments for the tunes, we most definitely appreciate your opinion. We want to make the best Raveonettes album to date!”
