It felt something like a victory lap for these two bands: Phoenix, whose album, "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix," propelled them into the US spotlight after years of working hard beneath the radar, and Passion Pit, who leaped into the blogosphere at last year's CMJ festival and have been steadily gaining popularity since. The two bands played two nights at Rumsey Playfield in New York's Central Park this weekend.  Both bands play sunny pop songs that you'll have trouble staying still to. And if you don't believe it, check out our Amplified shows with both Phoenix (here) and Passion Pit (here). Both bands are on tour throughout the fall, with Passion Pit scheduled for a Letterman visit in December.More pics from the Friday New York show below: (David Wharton)
