Amplified: Delorean

Delorean rolled into New York for the CMJ festival, after their Ayrton Senna EP made waves this summer for it's danceability and crowd-pleasing grooves. We got the opportunity to talk to them in Dan's office between gigs. The Spanish band is working on a full length album, with an expected release in March of 2010 or later (they're still looking for a US label). They were kind enough to let us use a finished track, Stay Close, in our piece. The song is bouncy, lively, fun and electric, just what you'd expect from the taste given by the EP.

Interesting notes from the interview: despite the hyper-enjoyability of the EP, the band is unsatisfied with the sound; it's not complex enough for their tastes. Also, lead singer Ekhi Lopeteghi is a philosophy PhD student.
