Did Scotty McCreery Flub the National Anthem?

Scotty McCreery is taking some heat for his performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” before game one of the World Series on Wednesday night.  As the American Idol champ tried to begin his performance, the microphone malfunctioned, which was an inauspicious start.  That was quickly corrected, but after his performance, as the Hollywood Reporter notes, there’s now some chatter online that he flubbed the words at the end.  Scotty is accused of singing “No Jose does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave” instead of “Oh say does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave.”  Examining the video of the incident, it sounds as though Scotty is singing “No-oh say,” but it’s simply a result of his phrasing — it appears as though he was, for want of a better description, “revving up” his voice to hit the note on “oh say,” and an “N” sound came out.  You be the judge.
