Justin Timberlake Goes to Ball With Marine Who Posted YouTube Invite

ABC
Singer/actor Justin Timberlake made good on his promise, attending a Marine Corps ball in Washington, D.C., this weekend with a Marine who posted her invitation to him on YouTube.
He escorted Cpl. Kelsey De Santis, who posted her YouTube invitation after another Marine, Sgt. Scott Moore, invited actress Mila Kunis to a separate ball via a YouTube video.
On his website, Timberlake wrote that he was proud to attend the event to show his support of the armed forces.
“I knew I would have an evening that I wouldn’t forget… Something I could tell my friends about. What I didn’t know was how moved I would be by the whole experience.”
He also seemed taken impressed with De Santis, writing that the 23-year-old was “humble and honest … very cool,” and that she seemed concerned about whether he was enjoying himself.
“I have to tell you, it’s not every day that I meet a 23-year-old girl and she’s more worried about if I’m having fun or if I’m comfortable! It hit me all of a sudden that these were the type of people that look after us and our freedom… Humble, concerned for others before themselves… This was the type of person our Marine Corps was building. I was really blown away,” he wrote.
Kunis, who starred with Timberlake in “Friends With Benefits,” accepted Moore’s invitation. She’ll go with him to the ball on Nov. 18 in Greenville, N.C.
Not everyone has been as successful with their YouTube approaches.
Sgt. Ray Lewis invited actress/comedian Betty White to be his date at another ball, but she declined. Although the “Hot in Cleveland” actress was flattered by the invitation, she said she couldn’t attend because she would be taping an episode of her show.

While Sgt. Ray Lewis’s original date Betty White did decline, Sgt Lewis did accept the date Linda Hamilton posted in response when learned that Betty White declined. Hamilton & Sgt Lewis had a great time at the Marine Corps Ball :)

I have a new found respect for Justin. Whether you like his music or not, he is a stand-up guy for attending.

Justin! You’re a stand-up guy. Having no idea what you were getting yourself into, you did the classy thing and went outside your sphere. That’s what life is all about. Semper Fi MARINES!
