‘The Bachelorette’ Ali Fedotowsky Splits with Fiance

Erin Laurence
Ali Fedotowsky, star of ABC’s “The Bachelorette,” has split from her fiancé Roberto Martinez, who she met on the reality show’s sixth season.
The couple fell in love while shooting the 2010 season of the hit series that saw several eligible young men compete for Fedotowsky’s affection. The season finale culminated in a romantic Tahitian-seaside proposal in which she said she would accept Martinez’s hand in marriage.
But there will be no wedding for Fedotowsky and the ex-baseball player from Tampa, as confirmed by their representative Monday.
“Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez have ended their relationship,” the couple’s rep told People magazine. “As they go through this difficult time, we ask that you respect the couple’s privacy.”
Fedetowski, 27, had previously appeared as a contestant on season 14 of “The Bachelor,” where she ultimately walked away from bachelor Jake Pavelka.
So far “The Bachelorette” has had a rocky record for lasting relationships, with four of the seven couples calling it quits.

Forced relationships don’t work. Especially if they are in the public eye too long. The GOP should be decrying this show as it is a shameless celebrity-like putdown of the institution of marriage. The show is clearly a joke and is a viewer waste of time.

Wait, they want privacy but we’re willing to go on national TV and meet their future spouse? These people are idiots.

Not news. Any of these relationships actually working would be news. Because nothing says commitment like saying “I’ll hook up with any fool that jumps in a hot tub with me.”

Doesn’t this mean *five* of the seven Bachelorettes have called it quites with their final guy?
Trista is still with Ryan. Ashley is still with JP.
But Meredith, Jen, Deanna, Jillian, and Ali are all no longer with their final guy.

Ali seemed aggressive and like a drama queen – difficult in general – on Jake’s season, whereas Roberto was much more easygoing and reasonable. Not a good match – I’m sure there are many women for Roberto who would be flexible and mature… a much better match.

Ali in the first place didn’t deserve to be in the bachelorette she never took the process seriously from the time of jake. She deserves to be lonely for wasting roberto’s time and the other guys that took time out of their lives

Don’t you guys have anything better to do then attack a couple? If you and your significant other tried and tried and just realized that getting married (A BLESSED COMMITMENT TO EACH OTHER IN FRONT OF GOD, something you should NEVER take lightly or walk into without 100% clarity) was not the best move, wouldn’t that hurt you? Would you want pathetic people commenting on why they think you broke up, or starting rumors, speculating hurtful things… no? They are not asking for privacy but to be treated as humans. Everyone has had failed relationships, so cut them some slack.

That’s too bad… although I did have a feeling it was headed in that direction. Roberto seemed a bit like a constellation prize/husband rather than “the one.” The guy I felt Ali was really falling for was a guy who walked away and got back together with an old flame. That’s a bummer things did not work out, but hopefully it is for the best.

Respect their privacy? Why didn’t they consider their privacy throughout their 18 month courtship? Why did they make it a priority to be in the spotlight almost constantly? Perhaps they should have considered more privacy instead of the limelight and they wouldn’t be in this sorry situation. Better yet, maybe they should have considered that anyone would be seduced on magnificent exotic island and far off locations where every amenity imaginable is at their fingertips and being catered to is the soup du jour for ABC. Stop being foolish enough to think you will be the one couple to escape reality when faced with reality. Real life is a lot different than reality tv, generation distracted!

She’s a damn golddigger, what do you expect? Fame is more important to Ali than getting married and anyone watching the show would realize that.

Ali and Roberto you are great together and I truly believe that you have a fairytale relationship. If it’s God’s will you will find your way back to each other. I really hope that things work out for you both. always remember that love doesn’t come easy ,its always about compromising and finding a way to work through it. NEVER give up. U will never find the right person coz no one in life is perfect but you can create a perfect relationship. Best of luck

That is really shame. In Croatia we had that “priviledge” to watch full episodes this summer and there are again on reprise this month. (so important for audience LOL) I mean, watching this again and the episode 8 and 9 where Ali was playing with the last four guys, come on… this silly game with Frank and how she was so upset and crying. What a joke! She already knew that Roberto is the best one and wants him, why so much pathetic drama? Oh for the audience hungry of soap operas, of course. Pathetic, as all the show. I only feel sorry for those last few guys at the end, Kirk and Chris, who has gone home broken heart for nothing and nobody! And Roberto too. Hope all will find right women but far from the cameras?!
