Charlie Sheen has severed ties with his personal assistant, Rick Calamaro.

E! reports that Calamaro, a former nightclub owner who became Sheen's assistant in 2010 and was by the actor's side during many "high-jinx" escapades, was dumped by the actor who is "cleaning house" to prepare for the launch of his new sitcom.

After a turbulent 2011 in which the troubled star had a meltdown leading to his dismissal from "Two and a Half Men," Sheen will star in "Anger Management," a sitcom due to air on FX next year.

Sheen nor Calamaro were available for comment on the story.
