Once upon a time, Paris Hilton became a recording artist, releasing the album Paris, featuring the dance single “Stars Are Blind,” in 2006. She hadn’t been very productive as a musician in subsequent years, but her comeback is now in full swing with the debut of her video for “Drunk Text.” Yes, the title of her new song is “Drunk Text.”

Paris doesn’t really sing on the track as much as she talks over techno music. The 31-year-old socialite basically delivers a stream-of-consciousness speech on ridiculous texts that people send while drunk. She laments, “My mouth kept pouring desperate clauses of random intent.”

Perhaps the most memorable lyrics from “Drunk Text”: “You take the word ‘sex’ and mix it with ‘texting.’ It’s called ‘sexting.’ But when you add ‘drunk sexting,’ the words just don’t make sense.’”

Not surprisingly, the song has been mocked online. Gawker’s reaction was simply, “Well, this is very awful.”

Paris is planning to release an album later this year.
