Gisele Bundchen Asks for ‘Positive Chain’ of Prayer for QB Hubby Tom Brady

If you’re an NFL player, the way to win the Super Bowl is practice, practice, practice.

If you’re a Brazilian supermodel married to an NFL star, another way to get your hubby the championship ring, it seems, is pray, pray, pray.

That’s the strategy of the here-to-unknown religious Gisele Bundchen, the supermodel wife of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who sent out an email to family and friends asking them to pray hard for a New England win against the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI.

“I feel Tommy really needs our prayer, our support and love at this time,” Bundchen wrote in the email sent ahead of this Sunday’s championship game.  “So I kindly ask all of you to join me on this positive chain and pray for him.”

Bundchen’s prayer chain proved itself not too strong, however, when the email was leaked by a recipient to the New York Post, which published it in full.

“My sweet friends and family,” the Post quotes the email as reading. “This sunday will be a really important day in my husband’s life. He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream of winning this super bowl . . .

“So I kindly ask all of you to join me on this positive chain and pray for him, so he can feel confident, healthy and strong. Envision him happy and fulfilled experiencing with his team a victory this sunday.

“Thank you for your love and support. Love, G :)”

Reached via email Wednesday, Bundchen told the Post: “I am surprised that you received this email; it was a private note only sent to close friends and family.”

While Bunchden received some heat for asking for prayers for her superstar husband to win a football game, singer Madonna, another A-lister with a stake in Sunday’s game, applauded the supermodel’s efforts.

“I think that’s great,” Madonna said at a press conference Thursday, while also adding she plans to say “lots of prayers” before her Super Bowl halftime performance. “She’s a good wife.”

The last-minute, devout plea from Bunchden comes as Brady will make his fifth Super Bowl appearance on Sunday in Indianapolis to face the Giants, a game in which the Patriots are expected to win.

He’s already won three Super Bowl championships in his career, led New England to 124 victories and has the best record of any quarterback in the Super Bowl era.

Bundchen, 31, and Brady, 34, were married in February 2009 after a one-month engagement.  Their son, Benjamin, was born later that year.  Brady also has a 4-year-old son, John, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynihan.
