As a straight person, I have the right to choose to be with a man.
Just as a gay person has the right to be with the person of the same sex.
My county government recently chose to vote against same sex marriage in North Carolina.
It is 2012 and people need to accept others as they are and if they dont agree- that is fine but they dont need to make an issue of it.
An old teacher of mine taught me not to judge people by the color of their skin, and the same should be done for family structures. A mom and dad, a mom and mom, a dad and dad. We are all people- with feelings, hearts, minds.
Try to love all that is around you, even if it may seem evil or “wrong”. The world would work so much more in harmony if this happens.

I would defiantly stand up for the kids getting bullied. because I know how it feels, because of my best friends has 2 dads. Even though i am only 15 I would still stand up for them. At school we are taught not to talk bad about others, it’s like if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t saying thing at all and if someone was doing that I would tell then to SHUT THE HELL UP!

I find it telling that the most challenging situations depicted tonight featured abusive preteens and abusive moms. Folks are not afraid to stand up to preteens (at the restaurant) or moms (at the side of the road), but what if the abusers had been men? Large, muscular, angry men? I suspect that John Quinones had to have filmed scenarios featuring men, and that peoples’ fears may have stopped them from stepping up.

Just watched this episode, and wondered if ABC has been looking over my shoulder, as this is what I am doing a paper on for my research class in Clinical Counseling. I would definitely step in and say something, as bullying is so wrong on so many levels. It can and most times-does scar someone for life-when they are bullyed at a child or teenager.

I would stand up because I have been bullied because of my physical disabilities but someone stood up for me and I want to help make sure no one else is bullied.

Obviously, the RIGHT thing to do is to intervene, to protect those children. The only exception for me, and for many parents, I’m sure, is whether or not you have your own children with you at the time. What I mean is, if you confront a bully, someone who seems angry, you really don’t know how they will react. They might completely fly off the handle and attack you and/or your child, verbally or physically, and we’ve got to protect our own children from that. They could follow you, wait for you to leave, and then attack you at your car. I used to intervene in these kinds of situations, before I had my daughter. But now, she is my number one priority, to protect her. I think if she were with me, in this situation, I would immediatly go to the counter, get a manager, and discreetly but firmly tell him/her to ask this person to the leave the store.

I would definitely stand up for the children being bullied. To sit back and allow this to happen sends the wrong message not only for the kids being bullied, but to the bullies themselves. Whether or not the adult who intervenes approves of gay couples is consequential (which I do), innocent children need to be protected and know that it is not right to bully. Whatever happened to the phrase and practice of “it takes a community to raise a child”? Sadly, in much of today’s communities, that is no longer being practiced. I am very lucky that in the town I live, we practice that religiously.

If a child is being physically attacked maybe, but in today’s world, that can get you sued. I don’t know if I would do anything or not out of fear for me.
