Lindsay Lohan is ready for redemption. This morning on “Today,” the 25-year-old actress opened up about her tumultuous year(s) of acting out and breaking the law.
“I regret the choices that I’ve made, but I’m grateful for where I am today, because of them,” she said. I don’t need to see any more negative stuff. I don’t need to put myself in those places any more.”
Clad in a black dress that dipped to the top of her breasts and platinum blonde hair extensions that evoked Barbie, Lohan lamented the critics that don’t think she’s capable of a comeback.
“If I harped on that and only focused on the negative and the people that doubted me, then I might be right back where they think I’ll be,” she said. “But that’s not what I want for me … I don’t want to go back to that place. I want to move forward with my life … I want to keep growing and I want to keep growing in the right ways.”
She said she’s ready to make fun of herself this weekend hosting “Saturday Night Live.” Her rep told ABCNews.com that the “Mean Girls” star has “been having a great week, and loves working with the cast, writers and crew at ‘SNL.’ Saturday’s show is shaping up incredibly well and Lindsay is going to knock it out of the park.”
Where would she like to be in five years? She told “Today” she has high hopes.
“Hopefully I’ll have just come from the Oscars this past weekend,” she said. “I want to get back to acting.”
