How many of you critics know how to build a guitar from from parts of other guitars that shouldn’t work together and create your own sound with it that happens to be one of the most elusive sounds to create in music? That guitar is one of the most saught after guitars in music history! Eddie created something that no other musician has been able to do. Even the creator of the electric guitar LES PAUL himself spoke of how influencial, creative, innovative and amazing Eddie is, and how he changed music without even trying. Come on people, give credit where credit is due. He made mistakes in his past and learned from them. Who hasn’t?? He is an amazing musician, and obviously a good father, otherwise Wolfie wouldn’t be touring with him. Would you want to be in a band, on the road spending every day with your dad if he was a bad person like you all make him out to be? I think not.

Does anyone else find it perfectly hilarious that it is almost exclusively men defending Eddie taking Wolfie on tour? They’re all so jealous, they’re practically screaming, “SXE, DRUGS AND ROCK AND ROLL BABY!!!” So, so sad. LOL

I’m proud of Eddie for giving up booze and smoking. Let’s hope Rev. Al Van Halen and Wolf will keep encouraging Eddie to keep moving forward and not go back. And as someone mentioned above, I believe Wolf did finish school after the 2007-2008 tour ended. So… Pulling him out of school was only for a short time. God bless you Ed and just keep moving forward bro!

Perlman and Marsalis are both CLOWNS! They are up Malmsteens backside. Malmsteen has the feel and emotion of a dirt-clod. It’s mindless shredding that Eddie could emulate if he wasn’t so interested in making great music with FEEL! The truth hurts Malmsteen fanboys.

I never comment on these things, but the comments left here got me going. Anyone against Wolfie being pulled out of school is a small thinker! Ok, Wolfie has the opportunity to tour with the godfather of hard rock guitar, and the #1 rock living rock guitar legend alive today (by the way, his dad)…why wouldn’t he bypass school, if he makes it up later. Eddie’s playing has been more celebrated & influental to rock music than any other guitarist, since he went in the studio for VH1 in 1977.Don’t envy Wolfie, because bottom line, it is literally the opportunity of a lifetime, than none of you haters would ever have offered to them, so why wouldn’t he do it?!?!? Besides, I heard the kid is 21 now, and that he got his h.s. diploma; so spare me…and of course Val got mad…she looks like she’s always mad! Eddie, if you read this, congratulations on being sober, your new marriage & new life, and good luck on the rest of your tour! Peace

^^^ Yes, I’m sure you’re privy to Perlman and Marsalis’ thoughts on rock ‘n’ roll guitar, and they both share your “speed = everything” outlook. Dude, I am a huge fan of great guitar playing, everybody from Chet Atkins to Segovia to Eddie Van Halen to Joe Pass. Malmsteen is a great technician, a boring songwriter and a ridiculously self-indulgent soloist. Maybe one day he’ll get it through his head that playing music is about moving people, not moving your fingers.
