WeWantTheirRainbowBack…. It’s not good that you are so judgmental. CSA (Childhood Sexual Abuse) is a form of trauma to the psyche, so it’s not realistic to expect the victims of CSA to treat it like someone stepped on their toe and run about tattling. Most often their are emotional threats made regarding any revelation of the experience by the abuser. Most often the trauma is harmful enough that the victim tries to suppress and push down the reality so they can live on while holding such a difficult wounding inwardly. Read up if you need to, it’s just that you speak harshly as someone on the outside looking in. It reveals simply you have a huge lack of understanding on the topic. Unfortunately, I don’t.

it could explain her racy bondage pics that took away her miss america title. those pics were taken around the time she claims to have realized what happened was molestation. but i wonder if she’s not embellishing to sell a book only because vanessa would know that child molesters have sick drive in them that will cause them to do this every chance they can get. if true, vanessa as an obligation to society to report the incident and have this person investigated for continued abuse on others. this person is likely still alive since the accused is only 8 years older than vanessa so that means another 10 year old could be easily be in jeopardy. you can’t just say publicly that someone abused you while out on a book tour, and then just let it go because if allegations are true then another child (in a long line of previous ones?) could be victimized. and vanessa with her fame and connections could protect innocents from the next abuse.

Oh people please. Some Vietnam vets talk about what they endured while others don’t want to speak of it. Same thing for molestation, some publicly discuss it while others hold it in until death.

I have a friend that was molested 44 yrs ago and has told only 1 person, me!!! Not her parents or anybody so don’t assume why someone is doing something because you don’t have a clue!!!

@BOB RAMOS Do you know anything about life? Why does it have to be an attention-seeking claim? Maybe she’s just ready to tell her story. If she’s lying, karma will take care of her.

And @DUUDE it takes most people decades to come forward, mostly in their 30′s or 40′s. Most people do not even seek professional help until then. That’s when they’re able to vocalize it as a part of their treatment. A lot of abuse has happened to my family and not until they sought help were they able to open up about it. Again, if she’s lying, karma will handle it, but if she’s telling the truth, good for her! It’s one of the most freeing experiences.

I’m sometimes skeptical about claims of child abuse when its revealed decades after the fact. It seems like an attention-getting device for some. Its all very unfortunate because there are plenty of true stories of early child molestation out there. Her claim sounds like it might be legitimate.
