Just months after ridding herself of her 2007 DUI probation, Lindsay Lohan may have another legal mess on her hands.
According to TMZ.com, Lohan told police that she wasn't driving her Porsche when it struck a dump truck in Santa Monica, Calif. on Friday. She reportedly said her assistant was driving the car, but TMZ said the assistant later told police Lohan who was behind the wheel.
Santa Monica police Sgt. Richard Lewis told ABC News that Lohan was at the wheel. The driver of the truck also said Lohan was driving. Friday's initial police report did not detail who was in control of the Porsche but said that the cause of the accident is under investigation.
If Lohan lied to police, she may have violated her informal probation from her 2011 shoplifting case. That probation lasts until May of next year. In March, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner said Lohan was no longer required to appear in court or report to a probation officer but cautioned, "You need to live your life in a more mature way" and suggested that the 25-year-old actress stay out of trouble.
Lohan's rep declined ABCNews.com's requests for comment.
