Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are reportedly engaged to be married.

Hemsworth, 22, popped the question Thursday and Cyrus, 19, accepted, according to a People magazine story today.

Cyrus tweeted Friday, “heaven is a place on earth”

Cyrus, the teen singer-actress who is best known for playing Disney Channel character Hannah Montana,  and Hemsworth,  the Australian heartthrob who’s starring in blockbuster movie  “The Hunger Games,” have been dating for three years. They live together in Los Angeles and have five dogs.

“Miley’s family knew about the engagement, but she’s kept the news quiet for days,” People magazine senior writer Joey Bartolomeo told “Good Morning America” today.

In the People story, Cyrus says, “I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth are reportedly in no rush to set a wedding date.

The pair meet in 2009 while co-starring in “The Last Song,” a film about two teens who fall in love.

Cyrus has previously denied engagement rumors. She was spotted in March wearing a sparkler on her ring finger, which prompted speculation, but she was quick to tweet, “I’m not engaged. I’ve worn this same ring on this finger since November! People just wanna find something to tal [sic] about! It’s a topaz people!”

Her engagement ring is no topaz. It’s reportedly a three and a half carat cushion cut diamond.

Cyrus has lately seemed to be shedding her wholesome teen image. She generated headlines last month after appearing on the red carpet at the Billboard Magazines in a super-short, revealing tuxedo jacket dress that left her legs and thighs bare.
