Russell Brand Talk Show Billboard Vandalized by Katy Perry Fan

Even after his highly-publicized divorce from Katy Perry was finalized in February, Russell Brand told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres that he still loves the pop star.

Katy Perry's fans, however, do not seem to love Brand back, and one of them figured out a clever way to steal the comedian's thunder.

Brand, 36, is in the headlines this week for his new show, "Late Night ReBranded," a comedy show set to premier tonight on FX. When a billboard for the show popped up on Los Angeles' Sunset Boulevard a "wide awake" Perry fan took the chance to redesign the sign.

"I would rather watch the Katy Perry movie," the as-yet-unnamed vandal wrote with spray-paint on the sign. The story was first reported by TMZ.

Perry's movie, "Katy Perry: Part of Me," is a first for the 27-year-old singer, a 3-D movie spectacle set to open July 5 in which she doesn't leave anything hidden from the cameras, including her divorce from Brand.

"I thought it would have been strange if I had completely avoided it," she told ABC News' Elizabeth Vargas in an interview this week. "You know, when there's a problem, it's not about the problem, it's how you solve it. And you can't avoid an elephant in the room, of course."

Brand, 37, filed for divorce from Perry in December, citing irreconcilable differences. The two had been married for 14 months, and it was rumored he wanted her to cut back on her partying.

Perry has reportedly moved on with Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd while Brand, who made headlines for heckling a fan who taunted him about his ex at a stand-up show last month, has been linked to a few woman since the split with Perry.

Before his hosting gig at this month's MTV Movie Awards earlier, Brand hinted to " Good Morning America" correspondent Cameron Mathison that he is happy where he is headed post-Perry.

"How do you think I am?" Brand replied when Mathison asked about his personal life.

"You seem great, man," Mathison said.

"Then that must be how I am," Brand said.
