Four more hopefuls advanced to the semifinals of NBC's "America's Got Talent" on Wednesday night. Singer Tim Hockenberry, contortionist Turf and comedian Tom Cotter were picked as this week's favorites by America. In addition, judges Howard Stern, Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne chose to keep human balancing act Donovan and Rebecca in the contest. The show also featured a musical performance by Gavin DeGraw.

Here's a rundown of how the results were revealed:

Host Nick Cannon got the show off to a nail-biting start by bringing out Tim Hockenberry and Turf to await the result of the public vote, side by side. It looked like one of them would be sent home, but they were relieved to discover that they both had advanced. Howie was pleased by the result, saying that he would have been forced to make one of them his wild-card choice if the outcome had been different.

Dance troupe the Lisa Clark Dancers, artist collective Aurora Light Painters, rock band The All Ways and novelty singer Big Barry were called onto the stage to learn their fate. There was a surprise in store for them, as none of them were chosen to move forward in the competition.

Next up, it was Tom Cotter, dance group Lion Dance Me and illusion act Hawley Magic. It was veteran comedian Tom Cotter who was told that he will get to perform again in the semifinals. Osbourne said she was pleased for Tom and his family.

The judges were forced to choose to save either Danielle Stallings or Donovan and Rebecca, after daring archer Ben Blaque was dismissed. Stern chose to save the strength acrobats, while Osbourne's vote went to 14-year-old singer Danielle. Using his deciding vote, Mandel made "the toughest choice this season," sending Danielle home and saving the balancing act.

NBC's "America's Got Talent" returns next Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time
