Singer Nick Lachey and his actress and television host wife Vanessa Lachey welcomed their first child, a baby boy, this week.
Vanessa Lachey (née Minnillo) gave birth to Camden John Lachey on Wednesday evening, the couple confirmed to E! News.
"We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey," the couple said in a statement Wednesday to E! News. "Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 pounds, 9 ounces and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us."
Nick Lachey, 38, rose to fame in the1990s boy group 98 Degrees, and became a pop culture fixture during his highly publicized marriage to Jessica Simpson, which was chronicled on the MTV reality series "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica." This summer he was a contestant on the NBC reality competition series "Stars Earn Stripes."
Vanessa Lachey, 32, is a former beauty queen who hosted MTV's "Total Request Live" from 2003 through 2007, and now hosts "Wipeout" on ABC. She has also appeared on a number of TV series, including NBC's "30 Rock" and CBS' "How I Met Your Mother."
The couple wed last summer, and revealed in June that they were expecting.
