Halloween is less than two weeks away. Do you know what you’ll be dressed as come that ghoulish night?
If you want to blend in with trick-or-treaters, dress as a superhero, the hottest trend this year, according to Halloween experts.
If you want to stand out, you could try on a “Botched Jesus Fresco” costume for size, a cheeky reference to the headline-making attempt by one elderly Spanish woman to restore an 18th century piece of art.
Or, if you want to determine the winner of the presidential election, you could purchase a Mitt Romney or President Obama mask, both hot-sellers this year at major Halloween retailers, including one where the winner of the presidential Halloween costume race has also won the real presidential election for the past four presidential races.
“If you call us first week of November, we can tell you who is going to be president,” Jason Sandlofer, a spokesman for Spirit Halloween Inc., a nationwide chain of nearly 1,000 stores, told Goodmorningamerica.com.
Even in an election year, when hot topics are all around, the place most Americans turn to find inspiration for their Halloween attire is within a retail store, according to the National Retail Federation, which also reports the average person will spend $79.82 on decorations, costumes and candy this year.
Goodmorningamerica.com spoke to leaders from three of the biggest Halloween suppliers in the nation to find out the must-have costumes this Oct. 31.
