Jessica Simpson‘s parents, Tina and Joe Simpson, have filed for divorce, a representative for the family told People magazine today.
“It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved,” the rep said. “Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time.”
Tina, 52, and Joe, 54, are also the parents of Ashlee Simpson. They have been married for more than 30 years.

Rumors about their divorce began circulating after Joe was arrested on DUI charges in August. He plead not guilty to two misdemeanor counts in September.
Joe managed Jessica’s career as she shot to fame in the late 1990s and early ’00s. He infamously bragged about his daughter’s breasts in a 2004 interview with GQ, saying “Jessica never tries to be sexy. She just is sexy. If you put her in a t-shirt or you put her in a bustier, she’s sexy in both. She’s got double D’s! You can’t cover those suckers up!”

Her daddy is creepy. No man should talk about his daughter’s chest.

Typical religious principles on display. The minister who pimped out his daughter in skimpy-wear to boost her career. She marries as a virgin, yet her sister has a child out of wedlock, then his virgin bride divorces her husband and has a child out of wedlock (#2 in this religious family) and the Christian parents divorce. Hilarious, really.

I just saw in a gay magazine that he came out of the closet and is dating a younger guy, that he refer to as his “boy toy”. Hmmm.

Who cares? Stories like these are a dime a dozen.

I can understand how being your own daughter’s pimp could strain a marriage.

How and/or why is this considered “news”? Few care about Jessica Simpson; even fewer care about her parents.

I dont get what this situation has to do with “biblical principles” divorce happens in many homes. So what is it called when this happens in a family that is not “religious”? …Normal?
