Jon Bon Jovi has broken his silence about his daughter Stephanie's drug possession arrest and alleged heroin overdose last week.
In an interview with L.A.'s Fox 11 TV, the rocker said the situation is "human," and added, "What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous … and then life goes on. Things happen." He continued, "This tragedy is something that I had to face too, so we'll get through it, and people's incredible warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good."
Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, 19, is the eldest of Jon's four kids with his wife, Dorothea. She made headlines last week after she was arrested for drug possession in upstate New York following an alleged heroin overdose in her Hamilton College dorm room.
Last Thursday, the D.A. dismissed the charges because she possessed less than 8 ounces of heroin. The D.A. also dismissed the case against fellow student, Ian Grant, who had also been charged with possession.
Bon Jovi has spoken out about his own relationship with drugs in the past. In 2007, he told People magazine, "I did the drug thing very young and wised up very young too, because I was into drugs a little too much. I've never been a drug guy. I've always felt I didn't have the mental stability to handle drugs."
