LOL at the idiots posting. Ian Fleming’s character never had exploding pens, crazy stupid gadgets, and Bond throwing a one liner every two seconds. It was a serious spy novel, with fantasy and escapism thrown in for good measure. Saying Bond is emasculated? Bond is the manliest he has been in this film. He goes from doubting what he does, the conflicting relationship with M, the only solid and authoritarian figure in his life. He has sex with a woman who is willing to give him her home and is evidently sad when he leaves (in the beginning) and sleeps with the baddies’ girl, Severine, It had glamour, action, storytelling and modern flair without having to dumb it down for idiots who just want t hear one liners. The humor was intelligently placed and Bond WAS Bond form the novels. The villain was crazy as he was complex. The only thing I can say about this film is that it’s not just a casual film. It’s deeper than most casual Bond fans and cinemagoers would expect. Daniel Craig is the BEST Bond to date.

I WANT A REFUND!!! What have they done to the Ian Flemming’s character! No fancy gadgets? No new and cool weapons or vehicles? No hot chicks?! WTF, give me a break! Are you guys seriously trying to ruin James Bond’s image? This movie SUCKS!! I can’t believe no one’s telling it like it is! I will not be tricked into watching another Craig as Bond movie! And NO it’s not even a good movie, nor even a BOND movie, it’s just a sucky waste of time and money! Ppppfffff….

Timothy Dalton is still my #1 fav. Bond, both The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill are my favorites!

I am so very disappointed. Horrid pick for Bond, I tried very hard not to see anything after Pierce Brosnan. He sucks, do better next time, find someone not so cold and ape-like. Do we really need an unintelligent, brute bond? What makes him better than some bigger more muscular opponent without the brains? Lack of gadgets? Who’s idea was it to try to make realism out of Bond?

This whole generation sucks, I am sorry I was born in an era where feminists push that being a ladies man is considered misogyny and not male human nature. This perversion which made to deviate (same root word as deviant) from male natural tendencies is sickening and must be stopped at all costs. This is oppression of men, nothing more or less. Oh yeah and again, simply a horrid bond. Daniel Craig, please play an appropriate role like Batman.

This Bond movie is a bit uneven and half-cooked. The first half kept me enthralled — ok, even Taken 2 (same location in Istanbul) give this Bond a good run for the money…

The villian was very well developed and sympathetic. But the 2nd half of the movie got too dry for me to take. It was a Bond “Home Alone” and quite harsh to take. All the fun, beauty and even the power of the MI-6 was stripped away. It’s as if the entire UK had only 1 agent – 007 to protect M.

Quite uneven in the cooking, as I said. Casino Royale was still the better of the 3 so far. The worse is Quantum of Solace — too much car chasing and shooting with no sense of a story.

This one – yes, still watch it — but I yearn for the days when Pierce Brosnan and better scriptwriters can take this franchise back…

It is royally expensive; though I was not consulted. A Queen told me not to act if I am not paid. 007 is a very nice code. I have the 007 of the Lord of Lords.I am greatful to this site because it makes me feel like Emanuwa – that is me – has a studio flat in this site permanently. However, Roger Moore was like the traditional 007. I am the spirit version per se.

Do not see this movie!! it will be a big waste of your time and money. 100% agree with Nick. Not a Bond movie,”TERRIBLY DISSAPOINTING”!!! No longer a fan of Craig as Bond. Yes, the best chase sequence but that’s it PEOPLE!! The first 5 maybe 10 minutes were the best, you keep hoping that it will pick up but if never does.

Over rated and over hyped. Its a good film but a bad Bond film. This reviewer says… “From the opening sequence… we are treated to, for my money, one of the best chase sequences any Bond film has ever offered”. Erm… have you ever seen a Bond film at all? Its decent enough but nothing amazing. I’m a Bond fan from Dr No to now and there are many highs and many lows but its clear they have no idea where to go now with this franchise. We’re probably over half way through Craigs run at Bond yet they are still trying to re-invent him. This might of worked better if it had been his 2nd outing. Its making a huge amount of money so obviously i’m in a minority but for me its not worthy of getting into the top 10 bond films never mind calling it the best.
Every reviewer is so excited and hyped up about this film that it stinks of the emperors new clothes, all too scared to go against the grain.
In another 50yrs when they are compiling Bonds Greatest Moments i wonder how much time will be dedicated to Skyfall.

This is a film “with more artistic merit than the previous 20+ James Bond films combined??”The best Bond film ever?” “Daniel Craig is the definitive Bond?” Who are you to make these definitive pronouncements? Are you being paid by the studio ?

I saw it last night from your recommendation. IMO the movie was overindulgent, clocking in at almost unbearable 2:30. Plot holes galore. Craig looks like hell. Only one Bond girl. No great new gadgets. The plot at the end taking granny out to the Moors was pointless. The whole thing was emotionally unsatisfying.
