If there were an Oscar category for best party after Hollywood's big night, there would be three consistent nominees every year: the Vanity Fair party, Elton John's Oscars party and the Academy's Governors Ball.

After all the statues are handed out at the Dolby Theatre, Hollywood's elite head to schmooze with their peers, flaunt their evening wear and perhaps show off a brand-new shiny little statue.

Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter always manages to fill his post-Oscars shindig with A-list celebrities, and this year was no exception. From Jennifer Aniston to Best Actress nominee Naomi Watts, the stars packed West Hollywood's Sunset Tower to rub elbows and toast the year in cinema.

Every Oscar nominee is automatically invited to the Vanity Fair party, a high-fashion soiree where the best accessory is actually arriving with an Oscar in your hand.

"It's relaxed and it's really fantastic," nominee Hugh Jackman, who attended the party with his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, told ABC News.

Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock, who stunned on the red carpet in a sheer black Elie Saab haute couture gown, was also in attendance.

"It's just beautiful," she said.

Anne Hathaway, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Les Miserables," celebrated her win at Carter's soiree. Fellow Best Actress-winner Reese Witherspoon, who took home a statue in 2006 for portraying June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line," agreed.

"It's fun, you get to see all your friends," she said of the party.

Elton John's annual AIDS Foundation viewing and after-party was beset with pop stars and reality-TV staples, as Britney Spears and a pregnant Kim Kardashian attended the bash. Miley Cyrus, Emma Roberts and Heidi Klum were all spotted at the A-list affair.

"It's a great mix of people," John told ABC News

John's parties, which began in 1992, have raised more than $300 million.

"We're ecstatic but, you know, we'd like to raise a lot more because the battle isn't won, of course," John said.

The Governors Ball is attended by many of Hollywood's elite, and the majority of the night's nominees. George Clooney, who won for producing "Argo," was overheard telling chef Wolfgang Puck, "I got some booze. I'm good!" as Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence and the legendary Barbra Streisand, and hundreds more as guests, dined on dozens of Puck's delectable dishes.

"We have so many chefs, all together 300," Puck told ABC News.

It's now a tradition for Oscar winners to have their names engraved on their newly minted statues right at the party, as the night's big winner, Ben Affleck, did with his statue for Best Picture.

Puck said Oscar night is by far the best night of the year.

"The Oscars is really the most amazing event in America," he said.
