“For ‘Saturday Night Live,’ it felt like to me you changed one of the lyrics in ‘Suit & Tie,’” Fallon said to the singer on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”
Timberlake initially went the innocent route and answered, “Did it seem that way? I don’t remember that.”
He continued with the light-hearted approach and said, “You know, really, everyone, keep calm.” But before Fallon could move on, Timberlake finally shared his sentiments for the rapper West.
“For the record, I absolutely love Kanye,” Timberlake said.
Timberlake returned to host Saturday Night Live on Saturday for the fifth time on Saturday. While performing his latest hit, “Suit & Tie,” Timberlake changed the lyrics from ”Aww, s*** so sick, got a hit and picked up a habit” to “my hit’s so sick, got rappers acting dramatic.”
It seemed to be a subtle jab at West, who made a comment about Timberlake’s song at his London concert in February.
During a performance of his song “Clique,” the rapper told the audience: “I got love for Hov, but I ain’t f*****g with that ‘Suit & Tie.’”
“Hov” is the nickname for rapper Jay-Z, who is also featured on Timberlake’s new song.
Perhaps West can accept the olive branch and make things less awkward for Jay-Z, with whom West has a joint album.
