Bradley Cooper is in Boston filming a new movie, but it’s clear he has a connection to the city too, especially in light of this week’s tragedy at the Boston Marathon.
On Thursday, the “Silver Linings Playbook” star went to the hospital to visit Jeff Bauman Jr., the 27-year-old man who was famously shown being pushed away from Monday’s bombings in a wheelchair. Ultimately, both of his legs were amputated below the knee.
New England Patriots player Julian Edelman tweeted a photo from Bauman’s bedside, which shows Cooper smiling and Bauman giving a thumbs up.
“Visited #survivor #stud #heroJeffrey Bauman Jr. today,” Edelman wrote. “He was looking great and is a true inspiration. #strong.”
It was surely an emotional day for Cooper, who also attended the interfaith service, during which President Obama paid tribute to those affected by the bombings.

WHY is he there. COMPLETELY inappropriate. So what? He’s a celebrity so he just walks around the hospital. He must really think highly of himself. Unless the family requested him to be there it’s pretty disgusting.

SAM: This is called faith in humanity. People like you don’t often recognize it.

I guess I see it differently than you Sam. I see a perfect stranger, regardless of his occupation, taking time out of his life to visit someone who survived a horrific injury. How is that inappropriate? Most hospitals have volunteers that do that. It would have been easier for him to turn his back and not give it a thought.

…so, how dare Bradley Cooper spend his time trying to lift the spirits of people who’ve been through such a horrible ordeal…? He isn’t trying to draw attention to himself. Visiting people in the hospital is a very simple and nice thing to do and it’s so good to see a smile on that guy’s face.
…and incidentally, what a bunch of cuties in that picture!!

Wow… wouldn’t have expected ANY negative responses. He’s there to show support… he can be a catalyst to make sure the victims stay in the front of media. I’m not a celebrity follwer, but I do like to see when they manke an effort to show support like this. Sad that some people are so jaded they cannot see that.

I would love to have Bradley Cooper visit me in the hospital! Most people are happy to meet celebrities, and most celebrities are actually decent human beings who care about others. Bradley Cooper gets plenty of good publicity as it is. He doesn’t need a hospital visit to boost his career.

I’m glad to see Jeff looking so much better. He was ash grey and no doubt in shock when they wheeled him to the ambulance.

This young man deserves to know he is loved and will be taken of whether that be by a visit from a nice human being (who happens to be a celebrity) or from a fundraising event which you know many celebrities will step up for.

Nice that Bradley Cooper took the time out to visit someone who clearly would benefit from an uplifting moment in what otherwise was a horrific week. From another article I read, I understand this guy is big fan of his, which is why he went to visit him.

There are some stand-up celebrities out there. They could sit next to their swimming pools all day and no one would call them on it, so those who take time to give to others should be commended.

Wonder how many US military amputees he’s visited.
And the other guy refers to this victim as a “hero”?
Are you kidding me?

To Geechee.. a ‘hero’ is someone that does everything he/she can to prevent loss of life. Jeff B. identified one of the bombers. So, he’s a hero. Why does this need explanation?
