Wearing a red strapless gown, Melissa Gilbert exchanged wedding vows with “Thirtysomething” star Timothy Busfield in California Wednesday.
The “Dancing With the Stars” alum confirmed the news on Twitter today, posting a picture of herself and Busfield in a field surrounded by flowers and telling fans, “Thanks for all the well wishes.”
Gilbert’s rep told People magazine that the couple tied the knot “in a private ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara on April 24.”
San Ysidro Ranch has been the site of many famous weddings. Gilbert pointed out on Twitter that “Lawrence Olivier and Vivian Leigh were married &John and Jackie Kennedy honeymooned there!!”

Shunning traditional wedding white, the “Little House on the Prairie” star went for the bold scarlet-tiered strapless gown instead. Busfield chose a dark suit.
Gilbert’s choice of color may have been because this is not her first time at the altar. A mother of two, Gilbert, 48, was previously married to Bo Brinkman and Bruce Boxleitner.
Busfield, 55, was also married twice before, and has three children.
The pair have reportedly known each other for two decades, before becoming engaged over the Christmas holidays.

I guess nobody ever learns. At that age what is the real point of getting married other than risking assets on yet another probably divorce.

My brother married for the third time and he has been married for over 30 years. They say third time is a charm! Me?? I have been married to the same guy for 41 years. I have him trained and I am also trained, too tired to train someone else! lol

Amazing how some continue to deny marriage to gay people because it will make it a “mockery”, but somehow it is ok for straight people to get married over and over and over again. Ridiculous. I just hope she stops filling her lips and botoxing her face, she looks like carrot top.

Wow!! Just read about you Melissa Gilbert and Timothy Busfield. A very big Congratulations to you both. I have watched most of each of your careers during your lifetimes. I really was sad when they cancelled “Thirtysomething” I am so happy for you. I hope this marriage works for God said: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness…” “And God proceeded to CREATE the man in his image….MALE AND FEMALE he created them”. Genesis 1:26,27 in part.
