Jennifer Lawrence has never seemed overly concerned with what people think of her (remember when she flipped off the press room after winning her Oscar?)-and it's always paid off. Now it seems the 22-year-old's devil-may-care attitude has scored her another big win, this time, with a daring new look.
Just before she appeared on the red carpet for Saturday's 2013 GLAAD Awards, Lawrence called celebrity hair stylist Mark Townsend and explained she was ready to try something new.
"Yesterday, Jennifer showed up an hour before call time and as she opened the door she was like, 'Mark, I want to cut it all off,'" Townsend tells Harper'sBazaar.com. "I was like, 'What? Are we allowed to do that?' And she said, 'Of course, it's my hair!'"
To create the new look, Townsend cut a "full-on shag, with bangs and a lot of face-framing layers. I loosened up the ends by chopping into them with thinning sheers."
"As I cut, I lost track of how many times she said, 'I love it!'" he continues. "She was super excited. It's the shortest her hair has been in her whole life."
