ABC News reported Friday that Brooke Mueller's twins with Charlie Sheen were in the care of Sheen's former wife Denise Richards, and now it's clear why. Mueller has been at UCLA Medical Center since Friday "to get help for prescription drug abuse," according to her rep.

"Brooke will be there for several more days and will likely transition directly into a residential treatment facility [afterward]," her rep continued in a statement. "Brooke misses her children and wants to get healthy so she can resume her life and get back to being a mom."

Sheen and Mueller, his third wife, divorced in 2011.

This isn't the first time Mueller, 35, has sought help. In 2010, she checked into the Canyon facility in Malibu, Calif., and the next year, after an arrest for alleged cocaine possession and assault, Mueller entered a treatment center again.

In December 2012, she made another trip to rehab, and at that point, Richards, 42, who has two daughters with Sheen and has adopted a daughter since their divorce, took in her ex's 4-year-old sons with Mueller, Max and Bob. Sheen, 47, and Richards, his second wife, divorced in 2006.

"This is not the first time I've had all five. They're Sam and Lola's brothers," she told Access Hollywood at the time. "It was a full house, lots of love and life. Brooke knows anytime, and Charlie, that any time they need help with the boys, that I'm there."
