Royal Photographer Captures Iconic Photos of Prince William and Kate

Britain's Prince William and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, are two of the most photographed people in the world.

As the world now waits for Kate to deliver the couple's first child any day, excitement around the couple has reached fever pitch.

"The last time I remember excitement like this was around the royal wedding," photographer Chris Jackson told ABC News' Lama Hasan. "I think this royal baby is going to trump all of that."

Jackson should know. He is the royal photographer for Getty Images, the U.S. stock photo agency, and has been behind the lens for some of the most iconic photos of Kate and William, including the photo of the couple's leaving Westminster Abbey after their 2011 wedding.

"I was right there and they looked straight at me," Jackson said. "For that moment, they paused on the front steps and you had that eye contact."

Jackson's many hours with the couple, both 31, have given him some incredible access, getting to know the royal couple away from the camera.

"William and Catherine are certainly a couple in love," he said. "William is incredibly protective of Kate and he's always putting an arm around and guiding her in the right direction."

The photographer's time behind the lens has also allowed him to glimpse William and Kate's playful side, including the time William, the second-in-line to the throne, reversed roles with Jackson.

"William was like in front of the camera, behind the camera," Jackson said. "He definitely felt more relaxed behind the camera."
