It has been more than a month since the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her first child, Prince George, and she seems to be taking to motherhood very well.

Kate, 31, was spotted grocery shopping on her own Monday at a market on the island of Anglesey, where her husband, Prince William, has been stationed as a search-and-rescue pilot with the Royal Air Force.

Kate sported a simple striped sweater paired with jeans and flats and had her hair pulled back in a loose ponytail with her sunglasses atop her head. The new mom appeared to have a bottle of wine and some pizza in her grocery cart.

What had everyone talking, however, was Kate's slim figure so soon after birth, a post-baby bounce back that sources attributed to a non-diet approach of breastfeeding and yoga.

"Kate and William are completely like any other young couple in the U.K.," said Victoria Murphy, ABC News' royal contributor. "They are not having a nanny at the moment and not having a maternity nurse."

"Kate is getting some help from her mom, like anyone who has a baby does. She very much wants to do it herself," Murphy said.

The sighting of Kate as a mom-on-the-go is the first glimpse of the royal since she left St. Mary's Hospital in London July 23, one day after giving birth to George. The couple last week released the first official photos of royal baby Prince George but Prince William and Kate decided to forgo professional portraits in favor of a few backyard snapshots taken by Kate's father, Michael Middleton, at the Middleton's family home in Bucklebury.

The family of three is expected to move soon into their newly renovated apartment in Kensington Palace, the same royal home where Prince William, 31, spent his childhood.

Prince William told CNN's Max Foster last week, in his first sit-down interview since becoming a dad, that he and Kate plan to raise their son, whom he called "a bit of a rascal," in as normal an environment as possible.

"Where I can be I'm as independent as I want to be, and the same as Catherine and Harry," William said, referring to his wife and younger brother. "We've all grown up differently to other generations and I very much feel that if I can do it myself, I want to do it myself."

Kate and William are expected to appear together at a charity dinner Sept. 12, marking Kate's first official appearance since giving birth.
