US Soldier Paul Ieti's Musical Covers Go Viral

Pfc. Paul Ieti is stationed in Afghanistan - but that hasn't stopped him from becoming a viral star back home in the U.S.

The Army soldier's covers of songs by everyone from Etta James to Rihanna and Bruno Mars have made him a YouTube hit.

In June, Ieti posted a video of himself, dressed in fatigues and eating cereal, sitting atop a table belting out an on-point rendition of Rihanna's hit song, "Stay." That video drew nearly 500,000 views on YouTube alone and put Ieti's name in the headlines.

Fans of Ieti's voice soon discovered the soldier's YouTube page, where he's posted videos of himself singing covers of songs by Bruno Mars, Marc Anthony and others.

Now, a video of Ieti singing the Etta James classic "At Last" has gone viral. Ieti says at the beginning of the video that he thinks performing the song is going to be, "Like the hardest song I'm ever going to do in my life."

He then pulls the song up on his smartphone and belts out a rendition James herself would be proud of.

Ieti's Facebook page says he is from American Samoa and currently lives in Savannah, Ga.

He also created a second Facebook page because, he says, he received so many friend requests on his personal Facebook page.

In good news for his fans, he writes that he'll be "posting more videos."
