The Duchess of Cambridge proved her worth as a thrifty fashionista today by stepping out in the same outfit she wore more than one year ago, down to the tights and ankle boots.
Kate, 31, appeared alongside her husband, Prince William, at the offices of Only Connect, a charity that works with prisoners and ex-offenders, in London wearing a patterned Orla Kiely coat dress paired with tights, Aquatalia ankle boots and a clutch.
The look was perfect for fall and, evidently, just as perfect for winter because Kate sported the same look in February of last year at another charity event, this one a solo engagement for The Art Room at a primary school in Oxford, the U.K. fashion site MyDaily reported at the time.
The dress originally retailed for around $500 but quickly sold out after Kate wore it last year, the British fashion press reported.
Orla Kiely is said to be a favorite designer of both Kate's and her family. Her mom, Carole, reportedly wore the designer's dress when she visited her grandson, Kate and William's son, George, at a London hospital in July.
When Kate wore one of Kiely's dresses to an event in March of last year, the designer described it as, "a nice thing to happen."
"When Kate wears one of your designs you get a boost," Kiely said, according to the U.K.'s The Mirror. "The phone was ringing off the hook - email went, and one of my team counted over 800 Google alerts at that time!"
Kate's recycled outfit also means the duchess is fitting back into her pre-pregnancy wardrobe after giving birth to George, her first child, in July.
The fact that Kate quickly whipped back into her pre-pregnancy shape was already proven, however, when the duchess inadvertently flashed her stomach during an impromptu game of volleyball at a charity sporting event last month, revealing a flat stomach not visibly impacted by pregnancy.
