Lauren Conrad appears the epitome of Southern California chic.

Now, the Orange County native and star of "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills" reveals how to master the California Look.

"Take any trend you want and relax it. That's how California does it," Conrad told the April issue of Allure. "If it's silk button-up shirts that are in, you probably don't button them all the way, and you cuff a sleeve, you know what I mean? It's almost like how your outfit looks at the end of the day."

The reality star-turned fashion designer and author also opened up about her decorating style at home.

Conrad got engaged to law student William Tell in October after dating for nearly two years.

"Your bed is for sleep and sex," she told Allure.

Conrad no longer has reality-TV crews in her bedroom, but she has still managed to keep up a relatively clean celebrity profile.

"Doing reality television for such a long time made a big difference," she said of maintaining a good reputation. "People were in my bedroom. You have to represent yourself well no matter what you do."
