Julia Collins is a 21st century game show contestant who live-tweets her way through each episode on which she competes and now the "Jeopardy!" champ has made history.

Collins of Kenilworth, Illinois, is the most-winning female contestant in the TV game show's 30-year history after she won her ninth straight episode Thursday night. Prior to Collins' streak, the most number of games a woman had won in a row was seven, set by Stephanie Jass in the show's 29th season.

Collins, a 2005 graduate of Wellesley College, has now collected nearly $200,000 in prize money.

"I've watched the show since I was a little kid, maybe 8 or 9," Collins told her alma mater's e-newsletter. "It was on mid-afternoon when I was growing up, so I could watch after school."

Collins says she tried out for the show five years ago and never had a call back but finally got what would become her record-breaking chance when she tried out again in 2013 and was invited on the show in December.

Collins, who double-majored in art and history at Wellesley before earning a master's degree in engineering from MIT, has become known for live-tweeting each episode on which she competes to her nearly 1,000, and growing, Twitter followers.

On her Twitter profile, Collins describes herself as an "aspiring polymath, smarty pants, voracious reader of anything in print."

The "Jeopardy!" champ also reveals her love for the game show through her tweets, including one in which she showed a cake she made during a cake decorating class.

Former "Jeopardy!" champ Ken Jennings holds the longest winning streak for Jeopardy ever, with 74 wins in a row in 2004 and total earnings of $3,196,300. "Jeopardy!" did not begin allowing contestants to win more than five games in a row until the show's 20th season, nearly 11 years ago.
