Robin Thicke has made no secret about his desire to win back his estranged wife Paula Patton.

Now, a new video for his latest single, "Get Her Back," may provide some clues to their breakup.

The video features close-ups of the shirtless Thicke soulfully pouring his heart out to a dark-haired beauty who resembles - you guessed it - Patton.

As the video plays, on-screen messages appear. They include: "I'm sorry." "You embarrassed me." "I can't make love to you anymore." "I hate myself." "You ruined everything." "How could you do that to me?" "I wrote a whole album about you."

That album, by the way, is called " Paula."

Since splitting in February from his wife of nine years, Thicke has been public about his efforts to win her back.

He debuted "Get Her Back" last month at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, where he also gushed about his estranged wife while accepting the award for Best R&B Single.

"Most importantly, I'd like to thank my wife for her love and support, and for putting up with me for all these years," he said.

In the video, Thicke literally holds his heart in his hands.

As he wipes away a tear and twists his wedding ring before turning to walk away, a final message appears on screen.

It reads: "This is just the beginning."
