Don't Think She's Pretty? Anna Kendrick Has the Perfect Comeback

Anna Kendrick knows people scrutinize her for her looks, and she has the perfect response for them.

The "Pitch Perfect" star, 29, told the December issue of Marie Claire how she deals with haters.

"The most common thing that I get is, 'Am I the only one who doesn't think that Anna Kendrick is pretty?'" she told the magazine.

Harsh? Yes, but Kendrick has the perfect comeback.

"And you're like, 'No, you're not the only one. Arguably, all of the boys in my high school agree with you,'" she quipped.

Although she may be joking, Kendrick has never relied solely on looks to boost her career.

She told Glamour's August issue, "The thing is, my appearance - that's never been my moneymaker. I'm fine being small. I'm fine being all the things I am."

"And I'm happy I'm not supposed to be on the 50 Most Beautiful list all the time," she added, emphasizing with an expletive how "stressful" that would be.

She seems to be doing just fine without it, too. Kendrick's star has been on the rise since her 2010 Oscar nomination for "Up in the Air."

"It was insane. Like really groovy and exciting. [But] there was a lot of ,'Why me?' - that sort of thing," she told Marie Claire.

Next up for Kendrick: playing Cinderella opposite Meryl Streep in "Into the Woods" and a much-needed break.

"The whole going-movie-to-movie-to-movie thing, I've been living that way for three years," she told Marie Claire. "Like I need to be a person and, you know, maintain relationships."

Fortunately, Kendrick knows how to kick back and have a good time. The actress admitted she'd had a little too much to drink during her Marie Claire interview.
