Lucky the dog is one lucky dog indeed.  She leads what could be considered a most pampered life for a pooch, living in a posh Manhattan neighborhood, hobnobbing with celebrities and attending red carpet events.

But now Lucky is looking to become even more lucky, in love.  So what do you do if you’re the owner of a celebrity pup searching for a mate?

Throw a “fairy-tale” bridal shower and plan an over-the-top, four-legged wedding affair, of course.

That is the path taken by celebrity animal activist and TV personality, Wendy Diamond, the founder of the Animal Fair charity and owner of Lucky, whom Diamond rescued from an animal shelter in 1999.

“She is my non-profit business partner, my best friend and my roommate,” Diamond told Goodmorningamerica.com of Lucky. “She is going to be the luckiest bride in the world, literally.”

Lucky’s “fairy-tale” bridal shower took place earlier this month at the Muse Hotel in New York City.  The bride-to-be wore a frilly pink dress and sipped special dog-tea alongside the 32 guests, and their dogs.  She also licked the icing off cupcakes created especially for the affair by the sisters featured on the TLC reality show “DC Cupcakes.”

“Since the shower I’ve gotten at least half a dozen people asking to do her bachelorette party,” Diamond said.  “The problem is I don’t know any dogs that strip.”

Definitely planned is the July 12th wedding for Lucky, the face of the Animal Fair charity that Diamond runs to raise awareness of animal welfare and homelessness, at Manhattan’s ritzy Jumeirah Essex House hotel.

“It’s going to be the most expensive dog wedding in history,” Diamond said.  “There will be 300 guests.  We have a seven-piece orchestra that understands not to have the music too loud for the dogs.”

“There will be dog treats and a doggie buffet and a dog ring-bearer and a dog flower girl,” Diamond said.  “We’ve had one bird RSVP and we got an email about a cat coming.  It’s going to be the most hysterical wedding in history.”

Beneath the celebration, which guests will pay $200 to attend, to benefit the Humane Society New York, however, lies a serious undertone.

Diamond is searching for a partner for Lucky because the Maltese may have only months to live.  Lucky was diagnosed with spleen cancer in February and given just three months to a year to live.

The pup was cancer free on her last ultrasound, thanks to a refined diet and care from one of the top animal oncologists in the world, but the type of cancer she was diagnosed with has only a five percent survival rate, according to Diamond.

“You would look at her and never imagine that she has cancer,” Diamond said.  “Lucky is doing phenomenal. Every day with her is a blessing.”

In order to find Lucky a groom, Animal Fair has launched an online competition in which anyone can enter their dogs to marry Lucky and, eventually, carry on her legacy as the face of the Animal Fair charity.

“We hope that whoever becomes Lucky’s groom can increase awareness about pet adoption and how important pets are to people’s lives,” Diamond said.  “And hopefully one day there will be no more homeless animals.”

As the face of Animal Fair for over a decade, Lucky has become a celebrity in her own right.  Diamond began photographing the dog with the A-list stars she ran into at red carpet events.  The photos, cataloged in the “Who Got Lucky?” column on the charity’s website, earned Lucky a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the “Animal Most Photographed with Celebrities,” with more than 360 photo of everyone from Betty White to Barbara Walters.

“I think they’re in shock,” Diamond said of the celebrities.  “It’s kind of funny.”

Now it is up to supporters of Lucky and Animal Fair to decide who will be the next four-legged animal, cats are encouraged to apply as well, to “get lucky.”

“Lucky’s fans will decide,” Diamond said of the contest, which already has more than 100 submissions.  “It depends on how many likes they [the animal] have on Facebook.  We hope it’s whoever people believe will dedicate their lives to animal rescue and welfare.”

Potential spouses can apply at Diamond and Lucky’s Facebook page, or at animalfair.com. Diamond will announce Lucky’s spouse on June 28, two weeks before the wedding.

British actress Keira Knightley is the latest Hollywood star set to say “I do.”

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star is engaged to marry her musician boyfriend, James Righton, 28, according to her publicist.

Knightley’s publicist Sara Keene confirmed the engagement to ABC News on Friday.

The 27-year-old actress has reportedly been dating Righton, who is the keyboardist for the British indie band, Klaxons, since early last year. The pair was reportedly introduced by mutual friend, TV personality Alexa Chung.

The British actress made a name for herself in movies such as “The Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, “Atonement” and “Bend It Like Beckham,” and received an Oscar nomination for her performance in “Pride & Prejudice” in 2006.

Before Righton, Knightley dated her “Pride & Prejudice” co-star, actor Rupert Friend, who she met on the set in 2005. The duo dated for five years but split in January 2011.

Knightley’s publicist would not comment on any details about the proposal or wedding plans. The couple, who lives in London, has managed to keep their romance largely out of the spotlight, rarely attending public events together.

Both Knightley and Righton have seemed to balance work with their personal lives. Righton’s band is reportedly working on their third album. Their debut album, Myths of the Near Future, won the Nationwide Mercury Prize in 2007. Knightley is slated to start filming her next movie stateside. In the flick, “Can a Song Save Your Life?” she plays a wannabe singer.

It’s clear from Janet Jackson’s Nutrisystem commercials that she’s shed some pounds, but the singer told Prevention magazine that she doesn’t even know what size she wears.  “Now it’s about looking in the mirror and saying, I feel good. I feel healthy,” she said.

Jackson said that carrying extra weight was risky business:  ”When I gained weight in 2005, my nutritionist was very worried. I was close to having diabetes.  Even when I lost it [and] then gained quite a bit back, there was always the thought of heart disease.”

Emotional eating has been a longtime problem for Janet, who admitted, “Chocolate, cake, caramel apples — there aren’t many things I don’t love.”

The singer, who’s had struggles with self-acceptance, told Prevention that while the pounds have been melting off, she’s careful to not overdo it: “Knowing I have these problems with body image, I ask my friends and family to tell me when I’ve lost too much too.  Because I will continue to pick on myself, like all women do, and say, You need to [lose] more here, more there.”

Elsewhere in the Prevention article, Janet explained why she believes people connect with her weight loss story.  She also talked about what advice she’s given her niece Paris, the late Michael Jackson’s 14-year-old daughter — namely, don’t go into acting.

Now British media are reporting they’ve obtained the Duchess of Cambridge’s secrets to staying so fit and toned, and it could be good news for commoners without a royal budget or a royal personal trainer.

Middleton, 30, reportedly stays fit with just a ball, a set of dumbbells and one hour per day.

Calling it the Duchess’s $15 workout for the price of the ball and dumbbells combined, British magazine Now reports that Middleton, the wife of Prince William, 29, trains herself, without the assistance of a trainer or fancy gym.

“Kate does an hour’s workout every morning using the gym ball and dumbbells, which includes some core exercises like squats, sit-ups and arm curls,” a royal source tells the magazine.

Middleton was an athlete in high school and recently showed off her sporty side in a surprise visit to the Olympic Park in Stratford, East London, where she took the field and held her own with the British Olympic women’s field hockey team.

The Duchess, whom Now claims is a size 6, has also been spotted staying active by cheering her husband and brother-in-law, Prince Harry, on at the polo field and taking the couple’s new dog, Lupo, on long walks.

The no-frills approach to exercise, while not confirmed by the Palace, would fit in well with the everyday lifestyle preferred by Middleton and her royal groom.

The couple are said to have shed royal servants in favor of going it alone and Middleton herself has been spotted doing the couple’s grocery shopping and filling her wardrobe with visits to mass retailers like TopShop in London.

Not reported in the Now magazine article is whether or not Middleton’s exercise regime is part of a training program for any particular race.

Last month as Prince Harry presented medals to the winners of the 2012 London Marathon, the prince, with a smile on his face, proclaimed that Middleton and William would run in next year’s marathon.

“What’s fantastic is my brother and his wife will be doing it next year,” Harry told BBC’s Sue Barker, during a live interview broadcast across the country.

Neither Middleton nor William commented, but a Clarence House spokesman later confirmed that Harry’s remarks “were said in jest.”

She may not look exactly like she did when she was dubbed the “most beautiful woman in the world” in 1994, but at the Cannes Film Festival, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan defied haters who have lambasted her post-pregnancy weight gain, and took to the red carpet in a gold and white sari.

Online commenters have criticized the 38-year-old Bollywood actress and former Miss World for not snapping back to her pre-baby body following the birth of her first child last November. The actress has remained unfazed, telling reporters at Cannes, “I can’t complain about being busy with the baby because hectic is always being redefined in my life. It was easy to come tonight because I’m not making any films.”

Many “American Idol” experts felt it was a foregone conclusion that Phillip Phillips would win the show’s eleventh season, but if things had gone a bit differently, the  21-year-old pawnshop worker from Georgia might not have been around to win at all.  He told reporters Thursday in a phone press conference that he considered dropping out due to his ongoing health problems.

Phillips’ dad told People magazine that over the course of the competition, his son had no less than eight different operations and he needs another one.  Phillip told reporters, “You know, I had some bad days and I had some pretty good days. It was rough at times, and there were a couple times I thought about just dropping out to get the surgery done but the doctors helped me out a lot.”

So what’s wrong with him, exactly?  Phillip told reporters Thursday, “My right kidney just kind of isn’t functioning, and I have a stent in to help with that.”  Phillip said he’s not  sure when he’ll have surgery again, but he expects to be back to “100-percent” by the time the “Idol” tour starts.

Speaking about his victory, which he claimed he never saw coming, Phillip said he feels any girl who voted for him just because he’s good-looking doesn’t really care about his music.  “I’m all about the music,” he said. “I’m not trying to be some cute guy who’s trying to be successful off that. I really want the music to come first, and I really want people to try to feel it and have fun like I do with it.”

Phillip also made it clear that it was important to him to stick to his guns artistically during the competition, and do the kind of music that he wanted to.  Explaining why he often ignored the originally melody of songs and completely rearranged them, he said, “I wanted to get the world ready for what kind of album I want to put out and, you know, I can’t be doing something that’s not me.”

Something else that’s not him?  His coronation single, “Home.”  Despite raves from ”Idol” critics and fans alike, Phillip said he doesn’t really consider the track to be his “first single.”  “It was a little too pop for me,” he told reporters.  “I really don’t put in any ‘Ooh, ooh, ooohs’ [in my songs].”  He added, “It’s a very good song, you know, and I’m glad people like it, but I guess I’m  little more rock than that.”  In fact, he wanted to put out one of his original songs, but he said he wasn’t able to get it together, time-wise.  He describes his music as “jazz-rock stuff.”

The newly-minted champ also commented on rumors that Jennifer Lopez might be leaving the show next season.  “That would be horrible,” he said.  “You know, she’s done this for years and she knows her stuff and she cares about each one of us and she’s a great woman and, you know, hopefully she stays.”

Being the first lady of the United States undoubtedly has its perks, but that doesn’t stop Michelle Obama from envying the lives of others.  Asked by People magazine who she’d be if she could be someone else, Mrs. Obama told the magazine, “Gosh. If I had some gift, I’d be Beyonce, I’d be some great singer.”

Obama is certainly a household name in her own right, so why be Blue Ivy’s mom?  She told People, “The power of music, being able to play an instrument … It looks like musicians just have the most fun.”

Back in April, Beyonce penned an open letter expressing how highly she thinks of Obama, lauding the first lady for being a “caring mother” and “loving wife,” and standing firm under pressure.  Shortly after that, Obama returned the love in a tweet, saluting Beyonce for being a good role model herself.

Beyonce also serenaded the first couple with Etta James’ “At Last” on the night of President Obama’s inauguration.

“She was a very important person to me and the world has connected us in a way that we’ll never not be,” Costner said today on “Good Morning America.”  “I didn’t really get a full grasp of that until the lead-up to the funeral where people somehow felt that it was important that I say something.”

Costner, 57, and Houston co-starred in the late singer’s movie debut in which she sang “I Will Always Love You” in the film that made more than $400 million at the box office.  The actor delivered a moving eulogy at Houston’s Feb. 18 funeral that hit on the issues of insecurity and doubt that had dogged the singer, found dead in a bathtub at age 48, in her later career.

“It’s a tree we can all hang from, the inexplicable burden that comes with fame.  Call it doubt, call it fear. I’ve had mine and I know the famous in the room have had theirs,” Costner said at the invitation-only “home going” ceremony that was held for Houston at her childhood church in Newark, N.J.

“The Whitney I knew was still wondering if I’m good enough. Am I pretty enough? Will they like me?” he said. “It was what made her great, and what caused her to stumble at the end.”

The Oscar winning actor, now starring in the “Hatfields & McCoys” miniseries on the History Channel, revealed his own anxieties leading up his memorial before the star-studded crowd that included singer Alicia Keys, actor-director Tyler Perry and singer Stevie Wonder, among others.

“Oprah was in the room and Diane Sawyer and all those people I wished were speaking instead of myself,” he said today on “GMA.”  “What was I going to say?

“You can’t be everything to everyone and how people choose to deal with it is something I was speaking to in the room,” he said.

Houston was found by her assistant in the bathtub of her hotel room at the Beverly Hills Hotel as she was preparing to attend a pre-Grammy Awards party.  Authorities said her death was complicated by cocaine use and heart disease.

“I saw pretty much what everybody else saw,” Costner said of the singer’s struggles with addiction. “I was asked a couple of times by closer friends of hers to write her a note.  I did.  I don’t know if she ever read them.”

“I just landed in Bangkok baby! Ready for 50,000 screaming Thai monsters. I wanna get lost in a lady market and buy fake Rolex,” the pop star wrote to her 24 million Twitter followers Wednesday night.

By the next day, that comment had sparked an uproar in Thailand, where Gaga is traveling  for her “The Born This Way Ball,” tour, with fans calling the singer’s remarks offensive and insulting.

“We are more civilized than you think,” tweeted Thai DJ Surahit Siamwalla, who also called for a boycott of Gaga’s Friday show in Bangkok.

“She came to our home, but instead of admiring us, she insulted us,” read a comment on the popular Thai web board pantip.com.

Gaga’s preference for knock-offs was also made clear when the singer touched down in Hong Kong for a tour stop in April.

“I love this city,” she tweeted April 30 after reportedly indulging a spin class in the city famous for its high-end retail. “You can work out & buy a fake Birkin on the same street.”

The backlash is the latest in a series of controversies the boundary-pushing superstar has faced as her tour travels throughout Asia.

The “Born This Way” singer arrived in the Philippines May 19 to a crowd of 200 Christian youths calling for the cancellation of her upcoming concerts and holding placards urging the singer to “respect our faith, stop the blasphemy.”

Officials in Indonesia, where Gaga’s provocative lyrics and public image had been the  subject of protests and complaints by that country’s hard-line Islamist organizations, banned her from performing her planned June 3 concert there fearing large and dangerous protests.

Public support for the Jakarta concert, which was sold out, nonetheless remained high and Gaga gave hope to her fans.

“Little monsters, be patient please,” the singer’s promoters tweeted after the ban was announced.  “We will keep you updated.  We are still fighting.”

On Thursday, Gaga’s manager confirmed the singer would rather cancel performances than make changes to appease her protesters.

“We’ll skip them,” her manager, Troy Carter, told a music conference in Singapore.  “We play the show as it is. It’s a very specific show, it’s a very specific audience.”

For one, Chan, a 27-year-old Massachusetts native who has dated the Facebook founder since their undergraduate days at Harvard, chose a wedding gown that costs less than what her new husband likely makes in one hour.

The bride walked down the aisle Saturday, just one day after her husband’s company went public and his wealth soared to $19 billion, in a $4,700 dress by designer Claire Pettibone.

The designer discovered that Facebook’s first lady wore her dress, featuring a floral sequin-covered overlay, sheer back, and chapel-length train, only after her husband saw a photo of the couple online.

“My husband started reviewing what happened during the day on his tablet and he looked at the picture…and he’s like, ‘Honey, the bride…she’s wearing your dress,” Pettibone told “Good Morning America.”  “We were just stunned.”

Pettibone had no idea that Chan had chosen her ivory, “Sky Between the Branches” gown because Chan used a fake last name to purchase the dress off-the-rack.  The designer and her team searched every shipment they had made of the dress in the last 12 months in order to find where Chan purchased her gown.

“We checked and the Little White Dress Bridal Shop in Denver, Colo., had it and we looked at the order and it was Priscilla with a different last name but the wedding date, May 19, and we thought that’s got to be it,” she said.  “They [store employees] had no idea who she was.  They thought she was just sweet and nice and lovely.”

Pettibone, who described the dress as sexy but elegant and understated, says she is still overwhelmed that Chan chose her design, and guesses the famous bride could be America’s version of Kate Middleton, referring to the famous royal newlywed who set off a flurry for her wedding dress after she wed Prince William last April.

“I think this is something that every designer dreams of and talks about over the years…it would be really great to get a high-profile celebrity, but wow,” Pettibone   “I still don’t understand the whole impact of it.”

“I think it’ll definitely go up in popularity after this,” she said of the dress, which first debuted on the New York runways in October 2010.

Also surprised by the couple were their 100 guests who thought they were at Zuckerberg and Chan’s Palo Alto, Calif., home to celebrate Chan’s recent graduation from the University of California San Francisco medical school, where she has been studying to be a pediatrician.

“It had that low-key feel,” Jen Garcia, senior write for People magazine told “GMA.”  “It was traditional.  It was rustic.  They had these great twinkling lights but it was candle-lit and there were very few flowers.”

Chan walked down the aisle to Zuckerberg, 28, with her fluffy sheep dog, Beast, and the couple recited their own vows, reportedly grinning the entire time.

Also low-key is the engagement ring Chan has been spotted wearing, a simple ruby reportedly designed by Zuckerberg himself.

“You would expect her to have this huge, 20-carat sparkler,” Garcia said.  “The ring itself just speaks to the couple. It’s very modest.”

The wedding feast came from the couple’s favorite Palo Alto restaurants, Palo Alto Sol and Fuki Sushi, and for desert they had Burdick Chocolate “mice,” which Chan and Zuckerberg had on their first date.

The couple had dated for nine years before tying the knot.
