Powerball Generosity In September, Mary and Brian Lohse won a $202 million Powerball jackpot and decided to donate $3 million to build a new football stadium at their son's school - but there was a catch. Mary Lohse said the visiting locker room must be painted pink and to her surprise the school agreed to her "half joking" demand.

Cabinet Meeting For the first time in at least 100 years, a sitting monarch attended a cabinet meeting in the UK. Queen Elizabeth II spoke only twice at the meeting - she wished everyone a merry Christmas and asked that her speech to parliament, which is written by cabinet members, be shorter.
